The charity is overseen by a Board of Trustees, mainly made up of people from the community and partner agencies, and is managed by a Head of Services. We are open 52 weeks per year and provide essential amenities to local residents. Many of our clients and visitors come from the surrounding villages where there is a high proportion of Rural Isolation. Local Eastern Europeans/Migrant residents access our services as well as a wide mix of age groups from young families to older people. In 2017 3,463 people benefited from our services.
In 2010 we created a social enterprise called ‘Food for U Ltd’ (Company Number 6169187) with the objective of delivering Meals on Wheels to vulnerable and socially isolated residents within our benefit area and provide a community café offering low cost nutritional meals to residents of Old Goole, the second most deprived area in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
There has been several successful funding applications to the Big Lottery over the years and to other funding providers, which has led to the expansion of our services. This website demonstrates our commitment to providing effective, good quality and cost-effective services to residents and visitors within our area of benefit.
